Every woman wants to look her best. It is essential to have confidence in your body to have confidence in yourself. A great body calls for shapely figure and great Bust/waist/hip measurements. Many women are naturally gifted with perfect breast that compliment their overall figure. Those that are not, are often subjected to relentless teasing, are unable to carry off certain outfits, have a rather unsavoury shape. It is rather annoying and quite disappointing to not have the perfect breast to compliment your general figure. Many women lose their shape and size over years to age, weight loss and pregnancy. These issues typically result in dissatisfaction with oneself and lack confidence. However, the beauty of cosmetic surgery lies in the fact that surgery can give what nature did not. Breast augmentations are for those who are not naturally gifted but can still achieve that perfect look they deserve.
What is Breast Augmentation?
Breast Augmentation or Augmentation mammoplasty is a surgical procedure to boost the size, shape or detail of a woman’s breasts. The surgeon places silicone, saline or alternative breast implants under the chest muscles or breast tissue. Breast Implants help you enlarge breasts, bring back breast size and shape after pregnancy or weight loss. It also helps bring in symmetry to asymmetrical breasts. Breast implants are also used to repair the breast(s) after surgery post breast cancer or any other affliction that may have affected the size and shape of the breast.
Are you a good candidate for Breast Augmentation?
If you are in good health, have an optimistic attitude and pragmatic expectations, you are most likely a good candidate for this procedure. Those who have small breast, asymmetrical breast, have lost their breast shape due to illness, accidents or weight loss can opt for breast implants.
What is the procedure for Breast Implants?
Breast augmentation uses implants to enhance the shape of your breast. During the procedure, your surgeon makes an incision, lifts the breast tissue, creates a pocket in the chest/breast area and places an implants in the pocket. One of the latest procedures that do not involve the usage of implants is called autologous fat transfer. In this process, your surgeon removes your fat, using liposuction; from a fat-yielding body part (such as your abdomen, thighs, or flanks) processes it and then inserts it into your breasts. At Allure MedSpa we use a combination of the most advanced technology, excellent techniques and the supreme skills of doctor Milan Doshi to give you the best results.
Types of Implants
The best part of breasts implants is that you can choose the shape and the texture of the implants. Given below are a few types of implants we use at Allure MedSpa.
Saline breast implants are packed with sterile salt water. Saline breast implants give a consistent figure, firmness and feel.
Silicone Breast Implants are packed with silicone gel, which feels a bit more like natural breast tissue.
Autologous Fat Transfer
Autologous Fat transfer breast augmentation uses liposuction to obtain fat from other parts of your body and inject it into your breasts. This is a breast augmentation is used for a relatively small increase in breast size and preferentially natural results.
Shapes of Breast Implants
Round breast implants make breasts appear fuller than form-stable implants. This implants helps achieve more projection.
Anatomical implants also known as, ‘teardrop implants’ are called so for their shape. Teardrop implants mirrors the curve of a woman’s natural breast.
Gummy Bear Breast Implants
Form-stable are also known as gummy bear breast implants, as they maintain their shape due to the thicker cohesive gel inside even if the implants shell breaks. They tend to be firmer than traditional implants and they are shaped as opposed to round.
Texture of Breast Implants
Smooth Breast Implants
Smooth breast implants are the smoothest, which give softest feeling. They can move with the breast implants pocket, which may give movement that is more natural.
Textured Breast Implants
Textured breast implants cause scar tissue to hold fast to the implant. This helps keep them stable as well as less likely to move around inside the breast and change the position.
Breast Implants Profiles
The profile of a breast implants refers to how much the implants projects forward from the chest wall. Implants will give a different projection from the chest wall depending on their profile. In simple terms, low profile implants does not project much. A medium profile implants of the same volume will project further out from your body. A high profile implants projects forward the most.
1) Low Profile
Low Profile Breasts Implants have a wide base and minimal projection from the chest. Low profile implants are more suitable for women with wider chests.
2) Moderate Profile
The moderate has a base similar to low profile but plus has a slightly higher projection. This suit woman with smaller, slender chests.
3) High Profile
High Profile Breasts Implants have a narrow base width and gives maximum projection. High profile implants offer round completeness on top of the breasts and some breast lift. This creates prominent cleavage and is perfect for women who have a very slim chest wall.
4) Ultra High Profile
The ultra high profile breast implants offers the maximum projection with the smallest base.
Breast Implants Techniques
Based on your anatomy and your required result, your cosmetic surgeon will use one of the following incision techniques to place your breast implants:
Inframammary incision made in the fold below the breast, called the Inframammary fold. This leaves the patient with a thin scar that can be easily covered within the crease. This incision allows the surgeon a wider access point, which helps in the placement of larger silicone implants or gummy bear implants with accuracy.
Periareolar Breast Augmentation Technique
Periareolar incision is made around the external rim of the Areola Incision Breast Implants, so the ensuing scar is situated inside this natural transition in pigmentation. Cosmetic surgeons regularly use this incision to hide scarring.
Trans-axillary Breast Augmentation Technique
Trans-axillary incision is made within the Armpit Incision, through which the cosmetic surgeon will insert the breast implants by means of a specialized camera and instruments to ensure the most advantageous position. This technique achieves a breast augmentation without scars on the breast.
Transumbilical Breast Augmentation Technique
Transumbilical incision technique involves a making incision just above the belly button. Breast implants is inserted through this incision and brought up to the breast. Transumbilical technique leaves just a single scar with no scarring on the breast.
Breast Implants Placement
One of the most important aspects in a successful breast augmentation is the correct placement of the breast implants. There are three places implants can be inserted to augment the size of a woman’s breasts:
Subglandular Breast Implants is one of oldest method of breast enhancement. Implants are placed directly behind the mammary gland and in front of the muscle. This placement necessitates the least complex surgery and has the quickest recovery period. Time of surgery is shorter as well, as there is no need of any incision in any existing muscle area.
Subpectoral breast implants placement lodges the implants under the pectoralis major muscle. This method reduces the risk of capsular contracture and visible implants rippling.
Submuscular placement places the implants securely behind the chest muscle wall. The implants is put behind the pectoralis major muscle and behind all of the supporting fascia (connective tissue) and non-pectoral muscle groups. Submuscular implants tend to be the best for mammograms, as they put the implants fully behind the area that needs to be examined.
